During his show, Ged takes you on a journey through the golden years of music, playing some colourful & unusual pieces along the way.
LIFE IN THE OLD DOG
"I’m Ged and I present the occasional show on Sonder Radio called “Ged’s Pick & Mix”. A very apt title as my music covers many genres and decades. Having always been a music lover, I have a large collection of CDs and Vinyl (nothing downloaded!!). Since retiring, yes I am that old... I have been involved with many activities and projects including “Age-Friendly DJ” providing music for the young-at-heart in housing schemes, dementia clubs and anywhere that requires golden oldie music. Also, radio presenting, of course, crafts (jewellery making!), race day commentator for a local Autograss car racing club (look it up under Leewood Autograss), and attending any age-friendly activities that come along. Not bad for an old-timer, eh? I am single (widowed) and have a daughter who is married and lives in Chorley. The only “lady” in my life at the moment is a guinea pig called Lily, as she’s pure white. In addition to music I enjoy watching DVDs, again a wide range from Disney to slasher horror! I live in a housing scheme in Ancoats and moved there 5 years ago after living all my life in Stockport before then. Well, that’s my story in a nutshell, hope you enjoyed the read!" - DJ Ged |
